Full-Time School Psychologist (K–8)
The Southampton Township School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to serve students in grades K through 8. This individual will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of our students. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, data-driven, and committed to promoting student success and well-being within a diverse school community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct psychological and educational evaluations to assess students’ cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for instructional strategies, interventions, and educational placements.
- Participate as a member of the Child Study Team (CST) and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide individual and group counseling to students as needed.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding strategies to support students' learning and mental health.
- Assist in the implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS).
- Collaborate in crisis prevention and intervention efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid New Jersey Department of Education School Psychologist Certification.
- Experience working with K–8 students in a school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education law and procedures in New Jersey.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
